Christina Paxson, an economist and the president of Brown University, has just listed her apartment at 88 Greenwich Street for a hair under $1.7 million, according to city records.
Paxson and her husband, Arthur “Ari” Gabinet, the general counsel at the OppenheimerFunds, bought the unit in 2012 for almost $1.4 million. Their address was listed as 55 Power Street, which is the President’s House at Brown.
According to the listing, with Doug Bowen and Zia O’Hara of Douglas Elliman, the apartment has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, beautiful views of the Hudson River, 10-foot ceilings, and custom built closets. Bowen did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Paxson has been president of Brown since 2012, and before that she was an economics professor and dean of the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton. Her research focuses on health and welfare, particularly of children. She is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations. In April, she was elected to be a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
