Tech company ASML investing up to $100M in Wilton expansion
ASML, a computer chip manufacturer, is planning to invest up to $100 million to expand its Wilton manufacturing and engineering center. The planned work, announced by Connecticut governor Dannel Malloy, will add more than 500 jobs at the 300,000-square-foot facility. ASML plans to build a new parking garage and renovate the building. The Dutch company acquired the Wilton property with its 2001 purchase of the Silicon Valley Group, which had owned the complex since 1990. [Hartford Courant]
Hotel and new museum proposed for downtown Peekskill
Local restaurateur Louie Lanza wants to build a 40-room hotel in downtown Peekskill. The plans include 10,000 square feet of space for the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art — to be renamed Hudson Valley MoCa if it’s approved. The state Workers’ Compensation Board formerly occupied the 35,000-square-foot building at 41 North Division Street, but Lanza and his partners bought it at auction last year. Bridgeport area has the highest percentage of millionaires in the US
If you’re looking for American millionaires, the Bridgeport metro area is the number one place to find them, according to a report from market-research firm Phoenix Marketing International. Nine percent of households in the greater Bridgeport market have over $1 million worth of investable assets according to the Wall Street Journal. About 411,000 families became millionaires in 2017, the highest number since 2010, the study found. [TRD]
Waterfront mansion in Greenwich sells for $14.5M
The mansion at 51 Glen Avon Drive sold for $14.5 million, marking another deal at the upper end of the rebounding Fairfield County luxury market. Built in 2009, the 8,916-square-foot home had been listed with David Ogilvy & Associates for $15.9 million since April 2017, and the unnamed buyer was represented by Houlihan Lawrence agent Ellen Mosher. The 1.5-acre property also features a pool house, outdoor kitchen and a dock on Cos Cob Harbor. [FBJ]
With Pepsi’s White Plains workforce growing, landlord plans new parking garage
The owners of PepsiCo’s campus in White Plains will add a three-story, 495-spot parking garage to accommodate the soda company’s growing workforce in the area. PepsiCo leased temporary space at the property in 2012 while renovating its offices in Purchase, and after a $10 million upgrade in White Plains, it leased both buildings at the 370,000-square-foot campus. Onyx Equities bought the property through Westpark Associates NY LLC for $56.6 million in 2014. [WBJ]
