Newmark Knight Frank will now handle leasing at 1 World Trade Center, replacing Cushman & Wakefield.
A Cushman team led by Tara Stacom had leased 2.3 million square feet at the 104-story building, but the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the Durst Organization are tapping an NKF team led by David Falk to handle the last phase, according to the Commercial Observer. Roughly a quarter of the 3.1 million-square-foot tower is still available, and the assignment is one of the most coveted in the leasing business.
Stacom’s team inked leases with more than 45 companies that ranged from 2,000 to 1.2 million square feet to tenants including Kensho Technologies, Sailthru and Piano.
Durst wanted “fresh eyes” to lease the final quarter of the building, a source familiar with the deal told the publication. [CO] – Eddie Small
