Massimo Ferragamo’s sprawling apartment at 655 Park Avenue is hitting the market for $18 million.
Ferragamo, the chairman of the Italian fashion house’s American line, is listing the 15-room co-op apartment, according to the New York Times. Chase Landow and Ryan Serhant of Nest Seekers International have the listing.
“The apartment is just too big for us and we do not need so much space,” Ferragamo told the Times.
The duplex — close to Central Park — measures about 5,800 square feet, has five bedrooms, seven baths as well as separate staff quarters, the report said. Ferragamo noted that he and his wife made various renovations over the years.
The unit was previously listed in 2010 for $16 million, but was taken off the market after eight months. The Ferragamos created the duplex by combining two units purchased in 1993 and 1996.
Ferragamo, whose father started the fashion house, now has his main residence in Italy’s Tuscany region.
There are two other units listed for sale at the white glove co-op, at $4.9 million and $4 million. [NYT] — Meenal Vamburkar
