Harvey Weinstein’s brother Bob sells Greenwich manse for $17M
Film producer Bob Weinstein landed a buyer for his stately 3.25-acre estate in Greenwich, Variety first reported. The mogul bought 13,000-square-foot home in 2000 for just a bit less – $16.4 million. He’d listed it in 2013 for $32 million but obviously benefitted in a lessening of expectations in subsequent relistings. The property, which was represented by Brian Milton of Compass, boasts 450 feet of ocean frontage, and the home contains six bedrooms, seven full and three half bathrooms, a tennis court and a sandy beach. Property tax increase included in Yonkers City Council budget
A 6.2 percent property tax increase enacted last week will allow Yonkers to avoid “hundreds of layoffs,” LoHud reported. The tax increase was included in a $1.2 billion city school budget that Yonkers’ City Council adopted in a late night vote. “It’s not the budget we all want and dream of, but it’s right now the best thing we’ve been able to do,” councilwoman Corazon Pineda Isaac said, according to the outlet. The increase means the average homeowner will have to shell out an additional $560, LoHud reported. [LoHud]

Medical marijuana dispensary wins Westport zoning commission’s approval
The town of Westport could be getting a medical marijuana dispensary, the Fairfield County Business Journal reported. Bluepoint Wellness of Westport LLC in March applied to open a dispensary at 1460 Post Road East, and the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the application. Now, Bluepoint will have to secure a license from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. If it gets a license, its dispensary would be the second one in Fairfield County. [FBJ]

New co-working space in Stamford isn’t just for millennials, owner says
Stamford has a new co-working space, and could have more coming in the next few years. Office Evolution recently opened its first outpost in Connecticut, on East Main Street, the Fairfield County Business Journal reported. While many of the co-working spaces in the area cater to millennials, Office Evolution wants “to send the message that we’re open to everybody. Our clients can make their space their own by painting the walls or decorating it as they want to,” Maddox told the publication. [FBJ]

Developer hopes to secure tax break as part of Mount Vernon renovation proposal
A developer plans to buy and renovate an apartment complex in Mount Vernon if it’s able to get a tax break, LoHud reported. If the proposal is accepted, K&R Preservation would renovate 100 Section 8 apartments at the Oakwood Gardens complex on Lincoln Avenue. The developer presented its plans to the Mount Vernon Industrial Development Agency, which hasn’t made a decision yet. “The goal of this project is to preserve the Section 8 affordable housing for years to come and considerably improve the quality of life for the tenants beyond the basics,” K&R said. The terms of the payment in lieu of taxes requested would be equivalent to five percent of the apartment complex’s rental revenue minus operating expenses. [LoHud]

Apartment building with access to water taxi, shuttle service opens in Stamford
A 218-unit apartment building has officially opened on Southfield Avenue in Stamford. Building and Land Technology’s apartment complex, known as Harbor Landing Apartments, sits near a waterfront boardwalk and marina and is offering studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, with rents ranging from $1,800 to $4,725, the Fairfield County Business Journal reports. Residents will have access to a water taxi to Harbor Point and a shuttle service between the complex and the Stamford Transportation Center. [FBJ]
