The New York Road Runners, a nonprofit that manages the New York City Marathon, is growing its headquarters by Central Park to about 48,000 square feet, according to Crain’s. This is a 20 percent increase from its current size of about 40,000 square feet.
The group will use the extra space in its building at 156 West 56th Street to give its employees more room, host conferences and set up facilities for media production.
Michael Cohen and Andrew Roos of Colliers International represented New York Road Runners in the transaction with their landlord, Tishman Speyer.
Asking rents were in the low-$70s per square foot.
The Road Runners’ revenue has increased dramatically over the past 10 years, rising from about $32 million in 2006 to about $87 million in 2016. [Crain’s] – Eddie Small
