Brookhaven IDA to help redevelop Dowling College’s former campus in Shirley

The Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency closed on a package of incentives for Triple Five Aviation Industries, which closed its $14 million purchase of the former Dowling College campus in Shirley, Long Island Business News reported. Dowling filed for bankruptcy in 2016. The 105-acre property next to Brookhaven Calabro Airport includes a 70,645-square-foot dormitory with 70 rooms, an athletic complex and a 65,000-square-foot building for offices or classrooms with an airplane hanger as well. The buyer hopes to bring corporate research and development firms, aviation schools and recreational flyers, among others. Triple Five plans to spend $2 million on upgrades. [LIBN]
