Have a horse and $65 million sitting around? A Westchester County property could take care of that.
Sunnyfield Farm in Bedford is asking roughly $304,000 per acre, of which there are 214 in all. The figure makes it the most expensive listing in the celebrity-adorned town, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The property is best suited for a horse and pony show — literally. There are equestrian facilities throughout the property and multiple barns with enough stalls for 70 horses. There are both indoor and outdoor riding rings, more than 100 acres of paddocks and a Grand Prix field for horses ready to train at the highest level of show jumping.
Thoroughbreds have been bred and raised on the property, including some that belong in the annals of horse racing history. Several horses belonging to the owners, the Nielsen family, have competed in the Kentucky Derby. Triple Crown winner American Pharoah has sired two foals that have lived on the estate.

Humans can also make themselves at home at 787 South Bedford Road. There’s a four-bedroom main home, a guest cottage and three smaller staff homes.
Other points of interest for the property include access to a local trail system and the next door location of the 75-acre Guard Hill Preserve.
The patriarch of the Nielsen family purchased the estate in 1976 at a bank auction, along with three other families. The Nielsens ultimately bought out the other partners, taking control of a property once owned by A&P grocery store heiress Josephine McIntosh.
The family is selling the property because they don’t use it as much as they previously did. Krissy Blake of Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.
