Mohamed Hadid
Developer
Though quiet lately, celebrity spec developer Mohamed Hadid is no stranger to legal fights and bankruptcies — take 901 Strada Vecchia Road, 2451 Summitridge Drive and 9650 Cedarbrook.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1991 from Washington D.C., leaving behind a “foreclosed home, a shuttered hotel, a substantial office development business and a failed marriage,” The Real Deal reported. But one of his lawyers, Jeff Reeves, told TRD at one point, “He’s a forward-looking guy.”
The real estate developer is known for building opulent mansions in Los Angeles, particularly in Bel Air and Beverly Hills. Hadid initially got into classic car restoration and nightclub ownership before moving into luxury real estate development. He has developed Ritz-Carlton Hotels in Washington, New York and Houston as well as commercial projects and luxury homes in Aspen and Beverly Hills.
Hadid is perhaps best known for Le Belvedere, a Beverly Hills mansion which he sold for $50 million in 2010, and the Crescent Palace, a 48,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion known as “Le Palais,” which sold for $58 million in 2012. Hadid appeared on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” In 1992, Hadid represented Jordan in speed skiing at the Winter Olympics. He has six children, including supermodels Gigi and Bella, and younger brother model Anwar Hadid. Mohamed Hadid was married to Yolanda Hadid from 1994 to 2000 and was engaged to model Shiva Safai from 2014 to 2019.
