The home where the namesake of Mother’s Cookies lived for 67 years hit the market in Oakland for more than $1 million.
The company was started by Noah Mique Wheatley in the early 1900s with the help of his future wife Leopoldine. The couple bought the home located at 2311 7th Avenue as a place to raise their two children.
According to sfgate.com, the home features modern additions to the original bones and period details. The property is decorated with bright colors and patterned tiles, but still sports a simple facade.
The outside of the home has a deck with views from the top of Ivy Hill, a covered patio area and a cave-like lounge area. There is also a fully-equipped one-bedroom Airstream on the property that is available for Airbnb guests.
The entire home is also run by smartphone, including the lights, blinds and thermostat. The skylights of the home are solar powered and the driveway features EV charging capabilities.
