The former Alamo home of Steph Curry has hit the market for nearly $9 million, according to Diana Jackin from Compass.
The home is currently owned by Sam Hirbob, CEO of investment company Eagle Canyon Capital, who knows Curry personally and purchased the home in 2019 in an off-market deal.
Basketball star Steph Curry, his wife and three children lived there from April 2018 to September 2019. They sold the property after the team moved from Oakland to San Francisco’s new arena because the commute was no longer ideal.
The 8,163-square-foot smart home at 1060 Livorna Road includes four garages with room for seven cars, a detached gym, theater with a $500,000 projection and sound system, a $250,000 vegetable garden, a billiards room and a separate guest wing and children’s wing. Ayesha, Curry’s wife, was heavily involved in selecting the fixtures in the home, with most items from Spain or Italy. The cost to build, landscape and furnish the home was $6.4 million and the home was completed in 2018.
If Hirbob gets his asking price, it would more than double the previous pricest sale in Alamo this year. A 6.500-square-foot home sold for $4 million on Sept. 26, according to Redfin.
The residence would fall short of the record in the East Bay, however. Two homes in Piedmont, a suburb near Oakland, sold for $12 million and $9.2 million respectively earlier this year.
East Bay home sales are starting to cool after hitting record levels earlier this year, according to a report by Compass. Average home prices fell to $1.15 million in the third quarter, compared to a record $1.35 million last quarter. The price per square foot also fell by $100 to $729 during the quarter.
Steph Curry is coming off leading The Golden State Warriors to the NBA Championship last season where he was named finals MVP. Curry and the Warriors started their title defense season earlier this week with a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
