For agents, growing your network is essential to growing your business – so why not use technology to help?

Courted launches real estate’s first data-driven professional network. Live in Miami and eyeing national rollout.

Courted (courted.io), based in Soho, NYC, offers the first professional network for residential real estate.

Real estate is about people, and nobody understands that better than the agents who form the center of the residential real estate industry. The team at Courted believes that if agents have access to better data and better tools, they can spend less time searching and more time connecting.

Using data from the Multiple Listing Services and a variety of other real estate and other data sources, Courted has built a platform that provides agents with live-updating profiles including their production history, awards based on their individual specialties, and market data and analytics that update in real-time and can be exported into easy-to-read reports.

Courted has seen impressive traction in just a few short weeks since they launched in Miami and currently boast high-profile users such as the #1 agent and team – Dora Puig of the Luxe Living Miami brokerage.

Courted also has an Advisory Board, which includes forward-thinking agents in real estate and technology like Mark Zilbert, who recently left Brown Harris Stevens to launch Zilbert in Miami Beach and Asheville, NC.

Courted has listened and learned from questions, feedback, and ideas from both its early members and its Advisory Board to create tools and features that appeal to agents across the production spectrum, from emerging agents working hard to grow their business to the top-producing teams in the Miami area.

Profiles for Miami agents are live on Courted

For top agents and teams that are focused on accelerating growth of their businesses, Courted’s data-backed profiles provide the most accurate, relevant information. Courted then harnesses those profiles to create the best platform for agents to discover and connect with one another, which  works particularly well for team building and referrals.

Discover the right agent for your team or your client through Courted’s agent search

As Courted grows, the team is also building proprietary matching algorithms to help agents find the right business partners for them – think of all the functionality and fun of the best dating app you’ve ever used, but backed by high-quality data and smart matching – which will allow agents to save time while developing more valuable recruiting and referral relationships.

For emerging agents who are looking to build their businesses from the ground up, Courted provides the tools to enable them to become the expert. Agents can stay up-to-date with real-time market heatmaps and statistics, solving problems and answering questions live with their clients.

Courted also enables agents to export that data into customizable, personally branded, and easy to use market reports that they can send to existing and prospective clients.

Agents rarely know what they were best at last month because other tools are focused on property-level insights rather than competitive intelligence and benchmarking for agents. To solve this. Courted’s modern, agent-centric data platform showcases agent awards based on monthly and annual production achievements. These awards are based on various statistics, property types, and locations, so many more agents can be recognized for their individual specialties – not just the national top 100 in overall production volume.

Courted was founded by an experienced team from the real estate brokerage and software development fields that has worked closely together for several years.

Left to right, Joe Urciuoli (Head of Engineering), Sean Soderstrom (CEO), and Dan Breitbach (CTO)

Sean Soderstrom (CEO) was an Associate Partner and co-leader of McKinsey’s Residential Real Estate practice and built and  scaled the expansion function at Compass, launching and managing its first 40 offices outside New York between 2013-2017.

Dan Breitbach (CTO) led the software development and data science practice for McKinsey’s Real Estate and Financial Services groups and Joe Urciuoli (Head of Engineering) helped to build several startups within some of the country’s most prolific real estate organizations at McKinsey.’

Given his experience scaling Compass and working closely with top agents around the country, Soderstrom believes Courted can better facilitate agent growth through a much-needed digital community.

“Having worked in this space for many years, we’re confident agents are here to stay and will remain central to the residential transaction. However, the dominant software products in the industry are typically property- and consumer-centric. As a result, Courted has the opportunity to create a differentiated product experience that facilitates the delightful and intuitive discovery and connection between agents as well between brokerages and the consumers they work with. We’re seeing that this results in a significant economic benefit to the agents who use Courted.”

Recently, Courted completed a $2M oversubscribed pre-seed funding round, with investment from NYC-based Lakehouse Ventures and several senior partners from McKinsey’s technology and real estate practices. Compass’ former COO and CFO and current CEO of Harness Wealth, David Snider, is an active advisor of Courted.

This investment adds to Lakehouse’s real estate tech portfolio, which includes pre-seed and several follow-on investments into security deposit innovator Rhino.

John Neamonitis, Founder and General Partner at Lakehouse Ventures, believes Courted’s vision and unique approach can have a major impact on how professionals and consumers connect:

“The Courted leadership team brings together a group that has not only worked together in the past, but also deeply understands both the commercial and technical elements of the product they are building. In getting to know them during the time leading up to our investment, it became clear that their insights were uncommon and they were building for a customer segment they knew extraordinarily well.”

Courted will use this funding to scale its engineering, product and growth teams and turbocharge the company’s national expansion.

Courted’s mission is to use technology to enable agents to grow their business. The Courted team believes that with better tools, agents can accelerate the process of identifying, vetting, and connecting with the right people that fit their needs – whether that’s connecting with other agents for recruiting or referrals, or with a consumer whose needs match that agent’s unique expertise.

Residential real estate is ultimately about people making difficult, emotional, and impactful decisions – not just whether to buy or sell a house, but choosing a home. The Courted team believes that agents are an integral part of this process. Through best-in-class data, predictive analytics, and deep expertise in residential real estate, Courted can empower agents to not only be, but showcase, their authentic selves and grow their business at the same time.

Courted’s product is live in South Florida and soon expanding to Southern California, Colorado, and the other top regions in the country.

Agents in South Florida can sign up & claim their profile for free at courted.io and agents around the country can head to the website to be the first to know when Courted is available in their local market.
