Building a Multi-Million Dollar Real Estate Portfolio: The Jason Lee Way

The fact that the revenue of realtors entirely depends on their performance in the real estate market makes it a lucrative career. There is no limit to earning, and you can continue learning and taking more market share throughout your career. While this career path requires excellent communication skills and strategies, that’s something you develop with gaining knowledge and experience every single day. If you are looking to explore career opportunities in real estate with no knowledge of the market, Jason Lee is the mentor and guide you need to follow. Coming from a humble background, Jason Lee built a real estate portfolio worth $50 Million, closed over $250 Million in Transactions, and you can follow in his footsteps.

Jason grew up watching his parents struggling to make ends meet, which is when he realized he knew he had to achieve financial stability to support his family. After several failed attempts at starting his own business in college, he finally got an offer to intern at a real estate company. With only $500 in his bank account and over $30,000 in student debt, Jason took a no-salary job during his third year in college. He was told, “In this industry, you only make money if you sell a property. It takes an average of 12 months for a new agent to close their first deal.” Jason was inspired by the success of his broker and owner of the company. At the time, he worked two other jobs trying to pay his bills.

After Jason got his real estate license, he worked 50 to 60 hours every week only making cold calls. He also focused on developing insight into the industry and the market. To quote him, “I became a sponge soaking up all the information I could.” He failed, learned, and grew only to emerge as a leader in the real estate space in San Diego. In the first 5 months of 2019, he managed to close 3 deals, including his first one that went into probate. He almost quit after that first deal went south… Since then, Jason became unstoppable, closing many more deals by the end of that year. He was basking in the success of earning over $200K in net commissions that year right before Covid hit the market, and everything went downhill.

Despite the crippling economy, Jason closed 22 Transactions for over $32,000,000 in his second year in the business. “The business froze for a couple of months while the world grappled with what was going on, but I was still in the office every day trying to make deals happen.” With every new milestone he achieved, his confidence grew stronger, and in 2021, he left his old brokerage to start his own Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, JLM Real Estate, based in San Diego County. He hired 3 agents, trained them, and scaled up the company closing 57 Transactions for Over $90,000,000. In the same year, Jason acquired 14 properties with his partner. In 2022, JLM Real Estate grew to eight agents and closed 49 Transactions for over $105,000,000. Jason also continued to practice what he preaches: investing in over $20 Mill Worth of Multifamily Real Estate.

JLM Real Estate now specializes in commercial real estate in San Diego and has 10 commercial agents servicing buyers and sellers in Southern California. While Jason has bigger dreams to achieve this year with JLM Real Estate, he also wants to share his formula of success with passion-driven people, helping them build exceptional careers in the real estate industry. Jason defines his success as “Being able to give back to people who are less fortunate than me and helping lift them as well.”
