150 Charles Street was developed by the Witkoff Group and designed by architecture firm COOKFOX. Unit sales began in February of 2013, and Douglas Elliman handled the first round of sales and marketing.

Since it opened in 2013 a number of famous figures have bought and sold homes in the elite condo. Witkoff Group founder Steve Witkoff was the first occupant of the building's penthouse, now sold. Current and former residents include actor Ben Stiller, supermodel Irina Shayk, and musician Jon Bon Jovi, along with notable real estate names such as Leonard Steinberg of Compass, Benjamin Winter of the Winter Organization, and John Gomes of Elliman's Eklund | Gomes team.
