Who built 335 Madison Avenue?
Although the original Biltmore Hotel was built by Gustav Baumann and designed by Warren and Wetmore, the same firm that developed Grand Central Terminal, the more recent iteration of 335 Madison Avenue were created under the auspices of Milstein Properties. Paul and Seymour Milstein used only the steel frame of the original building when constructing the modern tower, to the displeasure of preservationists. A more modern renovation spearheaded by SHoP Architects is expected to finish in 2020. This will turn the building into a tech campus.
