➤ Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners has promoted Adam Jackson to be its first chief investment officer.
Jackson previously served as executive managing director of investment management at Stream Realty, which he joined in 2008 before the firm launched its investment management platform in 2015.
He has led approximately $4 billion of acquisitions and developments totaling 30 million square feet since joining, and he will now oversee Stream’s investment strategies, manage its discretionary investment funds, and oversee key partner relationships.
“Since Adam was charged with leading our investment management platform, he has built out a world-class team of investment professionals and integrated that team seamlessly into Stream’s 14 local offices around the country,” said Lee Belland, co-general partner and co-founder of Stream Realty.
Stream has also recruited Steve Thomas to serve as its new executive vice president and managing director of occupier services in San Antonio. He will be joining with Alyse Sellers, who will serve as a senior associate.
An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in San Antonio’s commercial real estate scene, Thomas has worked in both tenant and landlord representation, as well as leasing and investment sales. He has earned the SATX and the CoStar Powerbroker Award for five consecutive years beginning since 2017.
Thomas previously worked at CBRE and was a principal partner at Travis Commercial Real Estate Services prior to joining Stream Realty.
He and Sellers worked together for several years at CBRE and have negotiated more than 3.7 million square feet of office lease transactions in Class A high-rise buildings and single-story suburban office developments.

Stream Realty is making waves in nearby Austin with the recent announcement of its plans to revitalize Austin’s Sixth Street district and to build a massive high-rise office in one of the capital city’s last remaining core developable blocks.
➤ New Mexico-based homebuilder Hakes Brothers is also making moves in San Antonio with the hiring of industry veteran Curtis Ramey to serve as its first San Antonio division president.
The homebuilder entered the San Antonio market in 2020 and said that Ramsey’s appointment was strategic as it continues to navigate the city’s fast-changing housing landscape.
“We haven’t had to cut into our base prices, but we have had to incentivize our homes,” the company wrote in a statement, explaining that Ramsey’s focus will be on improving operating efficiency and customer service.
Ramsey previously served in leadership roles at both Dallas-based D.R. Horton Inc. and Atlanta-based PulteGroup Inc., two homebuilders that have also been active in San Antonio.
Hakes Brothers is currently wrapping up construction for roughly 100 homes in Hunter’s Place in St. Hedwig on San Antonio’s Far East Side, and another 100 at Hannah Heights in Seguin. Its home prices range between $280,000 and $350,000 per unit.
➤ Irving-based architecture firm KAI Enterprises has hired James Lawrence as the new senior project manager for its Dallas-Fort Worth office.
Lawrence will be responsible for overall project profitability and customer satisfaction, as well as managing owner relations and overseeing subcontractor and KAI personnel performance.
He previously worked as a senior project leader for Fort Worth-based GFF Architects, as a project manager at CallisonRTKL in Dallas, and project manager/information technology director for Quorum Architects, also in Fort Worth.
Lawrence has over 25 years of project management experience dealing with retail, mixed-use, multifamily, government, corporate, and transportation projects across all phases of pre-design, design, production, construction, and administration.
“He brings more than two decades of diverse architecture practice experience to our DFW A/E team,” said KAI managing partner Brad Simmons, FAIA, in a statement. “We appreciate his adaptability and flexibility between small to large projects as well as his ability to fluidly lead through all project phases from pre-design to construction activities.”
Lawrence’s project portfolio includes The Solomon mixed-use, multi-family development in Austin,the Ferro multi-family development in Plano, and the Arlington Life Shelter renovation and expansion.
➤ Houston-based Hartman Short Term Income Properties has tapped chief operating officer Mark Torok to be its new CEO.
Torok will replace company founder Al Hartman as the latter moves to the role of executive chairman.
Torok comes to the role with more than 30 years of experience in regulatory, compliance, and securities issues, and will advise the board of directors in his new role.

➤ Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty Texas has announced the hire of DFW agent Jennie Block at its Plano office.
Block, who has earned accolades as one of Frisco’s top realtors in the last few years, said that she joined Berkshire Hathaway because of the culture, resources, and reputation of the firm. Nationally, the Warren Buffett-owned company has more than 2,000 agents and over $8 billion in annual sales volume.
