Four years down in Texas, and Douglas Elliman has no plans of slowing its roll.
The New York-based firm ranked third on The Real Deal’s top residential brokerages in New York City last year.
It neared the top 10 in Houston, ranking 12th on TRD’s 2022 list, with $360 million in on-market sales volume. And it ranked 14th in Dallas-Fort Worth that year with a total on-market sales volume of $156 million.
The Texas Triangle is one of the country’s most robust real estate markets, according to the Urban Land Institute. Dallas-Fort Worth ranked as the third-best real estate market nationally. Austin nabbed the fifth spot, down from third place in 2022. Meanwhile, Houston ranked 11th.
The firm is showing it’s here to stay, as Stephen Kotler, Douglas Elliman’s CEO of Brokerage for the Western Region, recently moved from Los Angeles’ Beverly Hills to Dallas’ Highland Park.
“In Houston, it has been very good business as sales continue to grow. Meanwhile, in Austin, we’ve had hyper-growth in recruiting, as well as a lot of new development in multifamily and condominium businesses we have in our pipeline,” Kotler said. “We’re going to be announcing very soon a big growth initiative in Dallas.”
The brokerage’s annual Ellie Awards highlight the achievements of the firm’s top-performing agents nationwide.
These are the Texas recipients of Ellies.
Renay Cohen of Houston emerged as the leading agent by sales gross commission income. DFW agents Victor Vo and Andy Anand rounded out the firm’s top three earners in the Lone Star State.
Austin-based team the Perry Henderson Group, led by Perry Henderson, claimed top honors in the large team by sales gross commission income and large team by sales volume categories.
The Polsky Porpino Team, spearheaded by Harrison Polsky and Levy Porpino in Dallas, won the small team by sales gross commission income category.
