A fast-growing robotics firm is the latest international company to relocate its U.S. headquarters to North Texas.
Shenzhen, China–based Pudu Robotics opened its new Americas headquarters Thursday at the Sherman Tech Center in Richardson at 1111 South Sherman Street, leaving behind its prior base in Santa Clara, California. The Dallas Business Journal reported that the move comes as the company looks to scale up its U.S. presence, pairing office space with a showroom and on-site warehouse in a roughly 16,000-square-foot facility.
Founded in 2016, Pudu builds service robots used across retail, hospitality, manufacturing and education. Its client roster includes Walmart, NASA and Honeywell.
The relocation coincided with a major capital infusion. Pudu also announced last week it raised nearly $150 million at a $1.5 billion valuation, bringing its total funding to more than $300 million. The fresh equity is expected to fuel expansion across the Americas, according to the outlet, where the company is targeting aggressive growth in commercial robotics deployments.
A spokesperson did not provide a headcount for the new office, but the company signaled long-term intentions. Americas general manager Raymond Pan said in a press release that the Texas hub will anchor a broader push to serve one million U.S. customers within five years, supported by localized product development and a more built-out supply chain.
The shift also reflects a strategic logistical revamp. Pudu has converted its former Silicon Valley headquarters into a dedicated logistics site, establishing warehouse and delivery operations on both coasts while centralizing corporate functions in North Texas, according to the publication.
The property’s owner, Irvine, California–based CIP Real Estate, acquired the Sherman Tech Center as part of a $265 million portfolio deal in 2021, according to the Dallas Morning News. Pudu’s selection of flex-style space is indicative of a growing preference among tech-adjacent firms for hybrid office-industrial buildings that can support both operations and distribution.
The move adds to a steady stream of headquarters activity in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, which ranked at the top nationally for relocations in 2025, according to CBRE. Mexico City-based Bimbo Bakeries is also heading to the metro, relocating its U.S. headquarters to Irving, which is northwest of Dallas, with plans to bring 100 jobs.
