Taylor Sheridan’s next project isn’t on screen; it’s in the heart of the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
The “Yellowstone” showrunner and North Texas ranching magnate is leading a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion of the 78-year-old Cattlemen’s Steakhouse in the Fort Worth Stockyards, Eater reported. The project is as much about hospitality real estate as it is about steaks.
Sheridan is partnering with David Glasser and Dan Schryer on an overhaul that includes more than 20,000 square feet of added space for dining, live music and private events. The buildout also includes a private club, called Cattlemen’s Club, accessible via elevator from within the restaurant with individual and corporate memberships ranging from $3,000 to over $9,000 annually.
The project comes amid a broader Stockyards boom and taps directly into Sheridan’s growing presence in Fort Worth, where he’s been selling beef from his Weatherford Four Sixes Ranch at Cattlemen’s and other local spots like Hurtado Barbecue.
The steakhouse’s old-school decor and menu are to remain intact. The expansion will add modern luxury touches, including a members-only boardroom, exclusive spirits access and a performance stage. Club perks also hint at further integration with the Four Sixes brand, suggesting future crossover events between the Stockyards and Sheridan’s 260,000-acre West Texas spread.
Renovations are expected to wrap this summer.
The Cattlemen’s remodel comes as Fort Worth’s Stockyards district experiences a surge of investor interest as well as internal uncertainty.
Majestic Realty, co-developer of the $1 billion Stockyards expansion, has lost two key executives recently. Kayla Wilkie, a creative lead on Hotel Drover and the project’s next phase, exited in May following the earlier departure of Craig Cavileer, Majestic’s former Texas lead and managing partner in the redevelopment joint venture.
Cavileer left amid an active legal dispute, and his stakes in several Stockyards properties were auctioned off. The development, which includes 300,000 square feet of new commercial space, 295 residential units and three hotels, is still in progress with delivery planned by 2032.
