A luxury ranch on the outskirts of Houston is back on the market, asking nearly double the price it was three years ago.

The 656-acre Whitehall Ranch, located between Magnolia and Navasota in Grimes County, is asking $42 million. Houston-based Nan & Company Properties is marketing the property.

The ranch was listed for $21.6 million by Hall and Hall and Robertson Real Estate in October 2020. Nan & Co., an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, launched its farm and ranch division in August.

The ranch breeds polo horses and cattle, and it produces hay, according to its website. It has a skeet-shooting range and clubhouse with a full kitchen, and there are multiple houses on the property.

The main house spans 4,300 square feet, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms and two half baths. It has a heated saltwater pool and poolhouse with a full kitchen, laundry room, gym and spa rooms.

There are six additional dwellings on the property, the largest being a three-bedroom, 2,400-square-foot gate house. The offering also includes a two-suite guest residence and a four-suite bunk house, each totaling 1,600 square feet, as well as three 960-square-foot cottages.

The property is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with an 8-acre lake for fishing. It has a regulation polo field and stables on an 11-acre tract.

Whitehall Ranch has ample agricultural opportunities, with a greenhouse and chicken coops.

Other notable ranch listings in the Houston area include the 600-acre Rancho El Saeno, which has been owned by the same family since 1840. The property, listed for $2.4 million in May, was given to a veteran of the Battle of San Jacinto — the final battle of the Texas Revolution.

In February, the 1,400-acre Broad Oaks Ranch in Waller County, about an hour northwest of Houston, hit the market at $35 million.
