Just down the street from Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles’ former abode lies the home of real estate executive Bobby Orr Jr., and it has just hit the market.
Orr’s 14,000-square-foot Georgian estate in the Lone Star State’s second wealthiest town, Piney Point Village, was just listed for $7.9 million, about $564 per square foot. Compass agent Clare Leppert is representing the seller.
Located at 24 Farnham Park Drive, between Buffalo Bayou and the Kinkaid School, the three-story mansion is within the Farnham Park subdivision.
All of the ground floor rooms open to porches and loggias leading to 36,000 square feet of manicured grounds, with a koi pond, outdoor kitchen and heated pool. The interior is decorated with hand-painted Gracie wallpaper and white oak plank floors. Amenities include a four-car garage, a two-story library, two game rooms, an elevator and a guest suite with a kitchen. It’s also outfitted with a home theater and snack room.
Orr and his wife, Charlotte Orr, acquired the property in 2005, according to the Harris County Appraisal District, which assessed its value last year at $3.3 million.
Orr is the President of Orr Commercial, a commercial real estate firm he founded 25 years ago. The company holds about $500 million in assets, primarily retail, spanning about one million square feet in Greater Houston, according to its website. Projects it has under development include the Spur at Seven Coves, a 144,000-square-foot entertainment hub set to include eateries and retailers, at the intersection of I-45 and Seven Coves Road in Conroe.
Orr is also the brains behind Leva Living, a development firm set to bring a build-to-rent community to the Atascocita area. It started construction on a 162-home rental community spanning 16 acres at 17260 West Lake Houston Parkway in 2022.
With an average listing price of $3.7 million, Piney Point Villages is one of the most exclusive areas in Greater Houston, beating out River Oaks’ $2.5 million average listing price, according to Realtor.com.
