Spurs guard Tre Jones buys “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s former mansion

“And that’s the bottom line,” because Tre Jones said so.

The San Antonio Spurs guard and his wife, Madeline, dropped seven figures on a five-bedroom, 5,300-square-foot mansion in the Dominion that was once owned by wrestling legend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, the San Antonio Express-News reported. 

The exact sale price was not disclosed, but it was close to the $1.3 million asking price, the outlet said. Binkan Cinaroglu of Sotheby’s International Realty represented Jones in the transaction. 

Austin, whose many nicknames include the “Texas Rattlesnake,” bought the house in 2001 and sold it for $770,000 in 2005. 

Built in 2000, the home features six bathrooms, a first-floor primary bedroom suite, a family room with a fireplace, an office, an in-law suite and quartzite countertops in the kitchen. The second floor has a game room and a balcony, while the outdoor space encompasses a heated pool, a spa and a cabana, all set on a half-acre lot. 

The mansion was listed for $1.49 million in March before undergoing several price chops. It was lowered to $1.35 million in May, and $1.3 million in June. 

Jones, a Minnesota native who starred at Duke University for two seasons, has been with the Spurs since the team drafted him in 2020. He and his wife got married last summer.

The Dominion, one of San Antonio’s most affluent neighborhoods, has yielded several eye-popping sales and listings in recent years. High-profile attorney Thomas J. Henry sold his 10,000-square-foot mansion at 18 Crescent Park to NBA player Jordan Clarkson about a year ago. It was last listed for $7.5 million. 

In 2022, Country music star George Strait sold his 7,300-square-foot estate in the neighborhood, which was last priced at $6.9 million.
