Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones sell Bedford estate

First Bruce Willis. Then Glenn Close. And now Catherine-Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas.

The Hollywood power couple, having just listed their Bermuda compound for $10.6 million last month and slashed the price on their Majorca mansion in May to $32.38 million, could become the next celebrities to bid adieu to Bedford Corners.

The New York Post reported that Zeta-Jones and Douglas are in contract to sell their 13.28-acre estate at 44 West Patent Road to Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt, whose Pratt Industries is one of the world’s largest privately owned packaging and paper companies. The outlet put the value of the off-market deal at $15 million.

Property records show that “Casa Zeta,” a limited liability company, purchased the roughly 15,500-square-foot home for $11.25 million in 2014. That deal came around the same time that Willis bought his nearly 23-acre Bedford estate — one he is now looking to sell for $8.7 million — and shortly before Zeta-Jones and Douglas sold another home they owned in the area for a profit at $7.5 million.

Built in 1895, the Casa Zeta country estate in the Guard Hill area of Bedford has eight bedrooms and 18 bathrooms. The home has been totally renovated to include a chef’s kitchen, two indoor pools and a gym, sauna and steam room.

Other amenities include an outdoor pool, tennis court, a greenhouse and a guest cottage with two apartments. The property also comes with a four-stall barn and outdoor ring with four paddocks for horses, where would-be equestrians have direct access to the Bedford Riding Lanes’ local trails.

On social media, Zeta-Jones has shared images of how she transformed a barn on the property into her own “girl cave,” complete with its own ballet bar, mirrors and a sewing machine.
