Fairfield County is getting its first Amazon distribution facility, the Fairfield County Business Journal reported. The e-commerce behemoth inked a seven-year lease in Stratford for a 78,000-square-foot building at 500 Long Beach Boulevard that was previously leased by Teavana and a 117,000-square-foot building at 600 Long Beach Boulevard once occupied by Sweetharte Industries. Amazon, which also has facilities in Wallingford, North Haven and Windsor, plans to open the Stratford facility on Jan. 1, according to the outlet. The company recently announced plans to open its first Connecticut brick-and-mortar retail outlet in Norwalk. [FBJ]
