JDL Development has recorded another big sale at its No. 9 Walton luxury condo tower, selling a 32nd-floor unit to a trust for $8.8 million.
The deal for the unit at 9 West Walton Street in the Gold Coast closed early this month, according to the Chicago Tribune.
It is the latest high-priced transaction in the building, which has attracted a number of high-profile buyers.
Trader Jeffrey Wolfson and his wife recently paid $8.2 million for a full-floor unit on the 33rd floor.
Other notable buyers include aircraft exec Neil Book, who paid $6.3 million in November for a four-bedroom condo on the 23rd floor; personal injury attorney Flip Corboy, who paid $6.1 million for a unit on the 24th floor; and Sara Lurie, daughter of philanthropist Ann Lurie and late real estate executive Bob Lurie. She paid more than $5.7 million for a four-bedroom unit.
They join Chicago Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews, Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward and former Chicago Bulls center Omer Asik on the owners roster in the building. [Chicago Tribune] — John O’Brien
