The founder of internet retailer Winston Brands is the latest high-profile buyer of a condo in JDL Development’s No. 9 Walton luxury Gold Coast tower.

Todd Lustbader, owner of the Elk Grove Village-based firm, paid $8.1 million for a 4,400-square-foot unit on the 26th floor of the building at 9 West Walton Street, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The building has assembled a roster of Chicago business leaders and athletes, among other notable buyers.

Ken Griffin, the hedge fund billionaire behind Citadel, shattered the record for most expensive home sale ever in Chicago when he bought four unfinished floors at the top of the building for $59 million in late 2017.

Other high-profile buyers at No. 9 Walton include Chicago Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews, noted personal injury attorney Flip Corboy and Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward[Chicago Tribune] — John O’Brien
