A home at 8730 Keeler Avenue sold for $2.25 million in Skokie, marking the highest recorded price for a home in the Chicago suburb.
The old record, set in 2023, was $1.95 million, coming in just under the $2 million mark. The high price is rare for the region — according to Crain’s, as only three percent of the 699 homes sold in Skokie in the past year went for over $1 million — but the price was not without reason.
The home was built in 2006 with a three car garage, a home theater and a gym in the basement. Additionally, the back yard opens up into the Evanston Golf Club, which marketing materials note has a golf course, tennis courts and a pool facility. The five-bedroom, six bathroom home spans two stories, and sits on 0.56 acres, according to a Redfin listing.
The property was listed on March 5 and was priced at $2.15 million. Keith Brand and Meaghan McCarthy of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago represented the house. Neither the buyers nor the sellers were identified by the outlet, and Brand declined to discuss the reason for the sale, only noting that everything in the house was custom built. The house itself spans 5,609 square feet, which equates to a sale price of about $401 per square foot.
8730 Keeler Avenue features a patio and a balcony on the second floor.
While the sale price set Skokie records, it’s nowhere near the sell price of luxury homes elsewhere in the Chicago area. A Glencoe mansion was placed back on the market in June for $14.8 million after being sold for $9.2 million in 2025. Another mansion in Lake Bluff sold for $10.5 million after being listed for $8.2 million on May 1. Last year’s sales were pricier still, with two Winnetka homes selling for upwards of $30 million apiece.
