Now that Katy Perry has triumphed over the nuns in her quest to buy a Los Feliz convent, it seems she no longer needs her compound in the Hollywood Hills.
The “Firework” pop songstress is shopping the two-house estate as a whisper listing for about $15 million, Variety reported.
Perry bought the contiguous properties, which span nearly four-acres atop Runyon Canyon Park, for a combined $11.2 million in 2013 in off-market deals. Together, they comprise about 7,000 square feet.
The smaller, contemporary-style residence was formerly owned by the parents of Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal and then by Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg. The larger Mediterranean home used to be home to Wal-Mart heiress Sybil Robson.
Perry closed on her $14.5 million purchase of a Los Feliz convent in March after a two-year legal battle with the nuns, who claimed they were the rightful owners of the eight-acre property on Waverly Drive.
Barely one month later, the “Swish Swish” singer dropped another $19 million on a 5,400-square-foot home in Beverly Hills. [Variety] — Cathaleen Chen
