Despite record-setting temperatures and a heat wave strong enough to keep most inside, celebrities remained active on the real estate front this week with purchases, sales and even for-rent signs.

Mother-and-daughter power duo Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian bought matching condominiums in a newly built complex dubbed “Avanti” in — you guessed it – Calabasas. The matriarch of the family dropped $1.5 million and $1.65 million for two condos, while her daughter settled for just one at $1.6 million. Details were scarce, but the property’s marketing materials show units range from 2,100 to 2,660 square feet and can have up to three bedrooms. Trendy hotspots SoulCycle and Pressed Juicery are in the retail portion of the complex.

Tennis champion and fashionista Serena Williams is serving up her home-court on Stone Canyon Road in Bel Air for $12 million. The 6,100-square-foot home includes six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a bar, a private salon and a study lounge. Sadly, no tennis court on this lot. Gregory Piechota of Keller Williams holds the listing.

For those fearing commitment, an option just opened up in the Hollywood Hills. Pop singer Natasha Bedingfield and hubby Matt Robinson listed their 3,300-square-foot pad for approximately $14,500 per month. The two-story home spans three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, a wine cellar and an eat-in kitchen. Bedingfield gained fame for her catchy “Unwritten” and “Pocketful of Sunshine” tracks. Inizio Property Management has the rental.

You bet your life this home is off the market. The former home of legendary film comic Groucho Marx was snagged by a Texas family for $3.8 million this week. The 3,700-square-foot home on Sunset Plaza Drive has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a swimming pool, spa and media lounge. It previously belonged to Neel Devani, who gave the home a nice Hollywood Regency-style facelift. Juliet Zacarias of Sotheby’s International Realty is laughing her way to the bank after selling that one.

Hot on the heels of sexual harassment rumors and a family divorce, Ben Affleck is indulging in some shopping therapy. The actor was spotted on a real estate ride in L.A.’s Westside with his new producer girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus. The two visited an $18.5 million home in Santa Monica, a $12 million pad in the Pacific Palisades and another $12 million residence in Brentwood.
