This week in celebrity real estate: “Kimye” sell Bel Air home for hefty profit, 1910 Bel Air trades…and more

Good things come in pairs? This week, celebrity real estate was dominated by two pricey sales in glitzy Bel Air, as well as two not-so-pricey trades over in the San Fernando Valley.

Not to be outdone by her questionably pregnant younger siblings, Kim Kardashian West dominated headlines in the real estate world once again this week with her home sale in Bel Air. She and “Heartless” hubby Kanye West flipped their renovated property in the glamorous Bel Air Crest neighborhood for $17.8 million to a Ukrainian entrepreneur and philanthropist, just four years after they paid $9 million to acquire it. The estate spans 9,000 square feet, boasting six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a swimming pool and cabana. Bravo bros Josh and Matt Altman of Douglas Elliman represented the couple, while Sandy Papale of Douglas Elliman and Joel Goodrich of Coldwell Banker Previews International represented the buyer.

Just down the street, the mansion built on the site of singer Della Reese’s former estate at 1910 Bel Air Road finally traded hands after spending a few months on the market. A self-made Chinese billionaire dropped $19.25 million for the 11,800-square-foot spec developed jointly by ANR Development Company and an LLC tied to Pathfinder Partners. The Rees Studio-designed home includes six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a gym/yoga studio, home theater, guesthouse and infinity edge pool. Teles Properties’ Ernie Carswell had the listing.

On the other end of the spectrum – and valley – was actor John Francis Daley’s more modest home trade. The “Bones” actor brought to fame by television series “Freaks and Geeks” spent $3.9 million for a modernist home on Libbit Avenue in Encino. The retro home has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a movie theater and private rooftop deck. A zero-edge pool and spa complete the exterior. Sebastian Wolski and Jason Perez of Compass had the listing. Marc Silver of Sotheby’s International Realty secured the buyer.

Actress-turned-author Gabrielle Union joined “Bones” actor in the San Fernando Valley this week to sell her modest 1,900-square-foot pad in Woodland Hills, Variety reported. The “Bring It On” actress earned $675,000 for her three-bedroom home on Abargo Street, which she acquired in October 2001 for $510,000. Althea Bowman of B&B Investments and Gina Isaac of Nourmand & Associates brokered that one.
