Ellen DeGeneres is a TV talk show star, an actress, comedian and real estate bigwig.
DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have become some of the most prolific luxury home flippers in Southern California, and they are building on that reputation in Santa Barbara.
The two have now listed their oceanfront property for $24 million — which would be a 29 percent increase over the $18.6 million they paid less than two years ago.
The 1-acre property on Padaro Lane is in the city of Carpinteria. The main residence spans 6,860 square feet with three bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms. The property includes a multi-level guest house with about 900 square feet and a tennis court. It was previously owned by Los Angeles developer Robert F. Maguire III.
The property is co-listed with Compass broker Suzanne Perkins and Riskin Partners Group at Village Properties.
In the last two years, DeGeneres has closed nearly $200 million in deals throughout the region, despite a softening high-end market.
Last month, DeGeneres and de Rossi purchased Adam Levine’s Beverly Hills mansion, which spans nearly 10,400 square feet, for $45 million. She also recently listed a 5,100-square-foot home in Beverly Hills for about $18 million, and in January, DeGeneres spent $27 million on a mansion that adds to her collection of homes in Montecito.
