Scooter Braun, entrepreneur and talent manager to music stars such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, added to his portfolio of pricey properties when he paid $26 million for an office building at 3355 Barnard Way in Santa Monica.
The seller was an LLC linked to the family of fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. The limited liability company, 3355 Barnard Way LLC, bought the building for $16.5 million from billionaire Eli Broad’s Broad Art Foundation. In the 1980s and 1990s, Broad exhibited his art collection at the 96-year-old building which stretches out to 24,000-square-feet. A source familiar with Braun’s plans for the building, but not authorized to speak to the press, said the place will be used as a creative center for arts and music.
The property in Santa Monica’s Ocean Park neighborhood has been on the market for several months. The initial ask was $32 million, according to Wall Street Journal, which first broke the story. Drew Meyers and Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estates Agency served as joint agents for the seller and the buyer.
The four-story building offers a roof deck with a lawn. There’s also several lounging areas and a skate ramp, along with a view of downtown Santa Monica. 3355 Barnard Way is located in an area that is zoned for high-density residential, according to its PropertyShark listing site.

Braun’s new Santa Monica building is another trophy addition to his portfolio. Braun made a number of high-profile purchases in the past couple of years, including a $65 million deal for a mansion in Brentwood’s Mandeville Canyon neighborhood. The home was formerly owned by Larry and Kathleen Paul, whose family are part-owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ NFL team. The deal gained the distinction of being the priciest deal in Brentwood in 2021.
