The scion of a Hong Kong real estate empire has listed his 7,600-square-foot home on Malibu’s Point Dume for $17.6 million.
Billionaire heir Damien Sabella has put his Spanish-style estate up for sale at 6930 Dume Drive, Dirt.com reported.
Sabella and wife Brandee, dubbed “the unofficial first couple of Southern California psychedelia” by Los Angeles Magazine, bought the home in October 2020 for $9.3 million.
The eight-bedroom, eight-bathroom house, built in 1958, was renovated and expanded by architect Doug Burdge in 2011 for Jakob Dylan, lead singer for The Wallflowers, and his wife Paige. It was then revamped again by broker/designer Lady Michael McCraine.
The split-level main house sits on an acre and includes a detached guesthouse, plus a tennis casita that now serves as a massage studio and gym.
The creamy stucco house topped by red terracotta tiles is hidden behind gates and a lengthy tree-lined driveway, with an attached two-car garage to the side.
An entry foyer flows to a formal living room with a floor-to-ceiling wood-burning fireplace and a wall of French doors spilling out to the backyard with a pool and spa, fire-pit lounge and a tennis court.
A chandeliered dining room sits off a gourmet kitchen with an eat-in island, La Cornue range, Calacatta Turquoise marble and a breakfast nook. The home includes a loft-style office.
A two-story “sleeping wing” includes the bedrooms and features an upstairs master bedroom with a balcony, dual walk-in closets and a sky-lit bath with dual vanities and a soaking tub. The property also comes with a private beach easement.
Broker Lady Michael McCraine of Compass holds the listing.
