Green Park Property aims to build 93 apartments with ground-floor shops and restaurants in Rosemead.
The San Gabriel-based developer led by Gerard Ngo has filed plans to build the seven-story complex at 7849-7857 Garvey Avenue and 7900-7916 Virginia Street, Urbanize Los Angeles reported.
It would replace a row of small commercial buildings at Garvey and Del Mar avenues.
Plans call for the construction of 93 apartments above 5,400 square feet of ground-floor shops and restaurants, with parking for 208 cars.
The apartments would come in one-, two- and three-bedroom sizes, most of which would be located on the upper floors. The project also includes several live/work apartments — three of which would front the ground level facing Strathmore Avenue.
The contemporary building, designed by Chinatown-based Scales Lab Architects, would be sheathed in white and gray, with both inset and exposed balconies, according to renderings. It would include patio decks on the second, fourth and seventh floors.
If approved, construction would begin this summer and be completed by the end of next year.
The proposed development bears many similarities to Prospect Villa, a 75-unit apartment building proposed by the same project team a few blocks to the west on Garvey Avenue, according to Urbanize.
