After a five-year ownership, investment group Dolcedo LLC sold a mansion in Bel Air for $17 million, a more than a 24 percent drop from the sum paid for it in 2018.

The deal closed Aug. 1 for the 9,800-square-foot trophy estate at 10690 Somma Way based on 4 acres, according to Zillow. The buyer was an LLC linked to Emil Khodorkovsky, CEO of mortgage company Forbix Capital, according to property records. Listing sites made no mention of real estate agents who represented the buyer or the seller.

Built in 1987, the two-story mansion offers architectural features such as a spiral staircase and a gym. The grounds include a tennis court and a pool.

The property also comes with some notable neighbors. The megamansion at 10697 Somma Way, once ranked by TRD as one of Los Angeles’ priciest rentals, is a few addresses away. The ask was $500,000 per month for the 41,000-square-foot mansion which offered a 36-seat theater, a recording studio, as well as an auto gallery that could display more than 20 cars. The place is currently listed for $59 million.

The group bought the 10690 Somma Way estate for $22.5 million in 2018, paid in cash.

Purdue scion David Sackler has a non-controlling stake in the Dolcedo investment group. His family’s company admitted criminal wrongdoing in misleading the public and health professionals on the dangers of its drug Oxycontin. Between 1999 and 2017, nearly 645,000 people died from opioids, which include illegal substances and prescription drugs such as Oxycontin, according to Center for Disease Control and Prevention. During a 2020 hearing in Congress, Sackler said his family was innocent of any wrongdoing. “The family and the board acted legally and ethically,” he said, according to an NPR report. He served on the Purdue board from 2012 to 2018.

Update: This article has been updated to more accurately reflect the property’s previous owner. The property was owned by investment group Dolcedo LLC.
