Kohen Development Group has listed a new 17,700-square-foot mansion in Holmby Hills for $45 million.
The designer-builder is selling the spec mansion at 615 North Faring Road, according to the Robb Report.
The lot was once part of a 4-acre hilltop estate owned by 1930s Hollywood actress Claudette Colbert, star of “It Happened One Night” and “Cleopatra.” Her Colonial-style mansion, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright’s son, Lloyd Wright, was demolished after it was sold in 2014.
Kohen Development bought a two-thirds-acre piece of the estate in 2019 for $7.6 million, according to Robb. The parcel is owned by Encino-based Faring LLC, registered to builder Soheil Matian and led by Shahab Kohen, according to public and state business records.
Kohen designed and built the gray three-level home on Faring Road.
The six-bedroom, 12-bath mansion is hidden behind high hedges behind a gated driveway, not far from Harvard-Westlake Middle School.
The contemporary showpiece is centered around a mature olive tree surrounded by glass walls rising from the bottom floor.
The spec house includes a living room with a two-way fireplace built in stone, a dining area with a glass-enclosed wine display, and a family room next to a gourmet kitchen with two “mini-wine cellars.”
The home includes a movie theater with pocket doors and a second bar off the family room. It includes two laundry rooms, an elevator and an office. There’s a two-car garage and roof deck.
The basement level contains a bar and a resort-style gym and a spa with pool, yoga and massage room, according to the listing.
Outside, there’s a hot and cold plunge pool, circular infinity-edge pool and spa and a built-in barbecue surrounded by grass.
Brokers Mauricio Umansky and Zach Goldsmith of The Agency and Aaron Kirman, Bryce Lowe and Kirby Gillon of AKG | Christie’s International Real Estate hold the listing.
