Old world design meets modern with a Sunset Boulevard estate that nabbed a buyer and went into contract.
The French country-inspired property at 9966 Sunset Boulevard is listed for $29.9 million and sat at the top of Los Angeles County homes that went into contract last week. That’s according to a weekly report produced by Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes team, drawing from listings of $4 million or more in the Multiple Listing Service.
The Beverly Hills mansion sits on a sprawling acre next to the Los Angeles Country Club and spans over 9,000 square feet. It has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
The Beverly Hills Estates’ Branden and Rayni Williams hold the listing.
Property records indicate the seller is a Netherlands private company operating under the name Raamplein 1.
Amenities include a motor court, formal living room, office with a classic coffered ceiling and bar, private balcony in the primary suite, pool house and tennis court.
Last week’s next priciest home to go into contract, according to Eklund Gomes, was a traditional-style home at 227 North Tigertail Road in Brentwood. The property is listed for just under $23 million.
The seller is a Delaware-registered LLC called TT11 with an office in Scottsdale, Arizona, property and state records show.
Compass’ Sally Forster Jones and Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California’s Tomer Fridman hold the listing.
The gated home spans nearly 12,500 square feet with seven beds and 13 baths. Highlights include marble accents used across the home, dual showers in the primary suite, rooftop deck, pool and yoga room. Detached from the main house are a one-bedroom pool house and one-bedroom pavilion with a theater.
Asking dollar volume across last week’s L.A. County deals rose about 27 percent from the prior reporting period even as the number of signed contracts fell.
Eighteen homes went into contract last week, equating to $164.1 million in listing price volume, according to the Eklund Weekly Luxury Report Los Angeles. Sixteen of those deals were for single-family homes, while the rest were for condominiums.
The prior reporting period for the week ended June 1 saw 20 signed contracts amounting to $129.3 million in asking dollar volume.
