Stan Kroenke’s 300-acre Hollywood Park development is moving forward with its first hotel project thanks to a nearly $200 million funding injection.
KPC Development, the commercial and residential development subsidiary of developer KPC Group, secured a $195 million financing package for the Kali Hotel and Rooftop, rising 13 stories in Inglewood near SoFi Stadium, Commercial Observer reported. Bank of America provided the loan, Hotel Business reported.
The 300-key hotel project, which will be at 3737 Stadium Drive, is estimated to cost $450 million in total. It’s the only permitted hotel in Kroenke’s Hollywood Park mixed-use district surrounding SoFi Stadium, the Kia Forum and the Intuit Dome.
When complete, the Kali Hotel will become a part of Marriott’s luxury Autograph Collection. Construction kicked off last year and topped out in September; the project is expected to wrap up late next year.
Plans for the development call for a rooftop dining space, spa and wellness facilities and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
The Kali Hotel will be just one part of the Hollywood Park complex, expected to boast up to 4 million square feet of creative office space, roughly 900,000 square feet of retail space and up to 2,500 multifamily residences. Builder Clayco is handling construction of the hotel while Lamar Johnson Collaborative is acting as architect and Gensler is designing the interior. Kroenke’s Kroenke Holdings is spearheading development in Hollywood Park with Wilson Meany working as development manager, and Clayco also building the forthcoming Hollywood Park Studios development.
The 12-acre studio, poised for construction at the Hollywood Park retail village at 1001 Stadium Drive, would serve as a hub for the International Broadcast Center for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. After that, it would be available for entertainment production and operations. Plans for the project include five 18,000-square-foot soundstages and a three-story, 80,000-square-foot office building for support, production and postproduction facilities.
The Kali Hotel, like Hollywood Park Studios, is part of Kroenke’s greater plan to create a contained community with multiple uses for visitors.
“The vision for Hollywood Park has always been to build a city within a city combining media, entertainment and technology that will transform the greater Los Angeles area,” the Los Angeles Rams owner said of the 300-acre development.
