A Malibu estate once shared by Google co-founder Sergey Brin and ex-wife Nicole Shanahan is heading to the luxury rental market.
The five-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom Point Dume property, purchased by Brin and Shanahan for $35 million in 2020, is now being marketed as a newly renovated rental retreat, Realtor.com reported. The manse is available for rent at $175,000 per month for the summer season, or for a longer-term lease for $125,000 per month.
The home is linked in property records to a Nevada LLC managed through Shanahan’s family office, suggesting she retained control of the estate after the couple’s 2023 divorce. Shanahan — who later surfaced as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate during his 2024 presidential bid — reportedly received roughly $1 billion in assets as part of the split, though details were never publicly disclosed. It’s unclear whether Shanahan ever used the home as her primary residence, as she told Blaze Media’s Frontier Magazine that she was living in another property with her partner.
The 1.2-acre compound includes gated access, a pool, spa, gym, a separate guest apartment, multiple kitchens and communal spaces, and keyed access to Little Dume Beach. Interiors feature a mix of white oak flooring, terrazzo and Botticino marble and touches like brass Waterworks fixtures.
Brin and Shanahan weren’t the only high-profile people to have owned the property. Pop singer P!nk purchased it in 2010 for $11.9 million and used it as her primary residence until selling in 2016 for $12.5 million.
With the threat of a one-time wealth tax looming in California, Brin has sought to shift his real estate holdings out of state. He bought a $42 million mansion on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe earlier this year, and in March, he plunked down $51 million for a Miami Beach home bought from LVMH CEO Michael Burke. He maintains a home in Malibu that he bought in 2022 for $35 million and purchased an additional Malibu property last July for $49.7 million.
