Donald Trump has dropped his lawsuit against Palm Beach County over airport noise after Palm Beach International Airport director Bruce Pelly said recently that he would drop his proposals to dismantle both the Citizens Committee on Airport Noise and a system of electronic noise monitors near PBIA, the Palm Beach Daily News reported. Trump filed the lawsuit in July 2010 to put a stop to the noise over his Mar-a-Lago property. He said the county had proposed “a totally unnecessary and ridiculously expensive runway.” In a letter to the county, a Trump representative wrote: “Since it is now apparent that the county has abandoned or put the very things that threatened those citizens [affected by noise] on indefinite hold for at least 34 years, Mr. Trump has decided to dismiss the case for now.” [PBDN]
