Trader Joe’s has set the time and date for the opening of its new store in Fort Lauderdale: 8 a.m. on Oct. 15.
The popular grocery store’s 17th location in Florida will be at 1590 North Federal Highway in the 1600 Commons shopping plaza. The store will be 10,100 square feet, Trader Joe’s said.
Known for its low prices, Trader Joe’s carries an array of domestic and imported foods and beverages, including artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrées, 100 percent juices, fresh crop nuts, deli items, vitamins, and more. Trader Joe’s also offers more than 3,000 items under its private label, which includes Trader José’s salsas, Trader Ming’s fried rice, TraderGiotto’s marinara sauces, and other specially purchased items.
The California-based chain has been rapidly expanding in Florida. Trader Joe’s is scheduled to open its Davie store at at The Tower Shops at 2296 South University Drive, on Sept. 25.
In South Florida, Trader Joe’s currently has stores in Pinecrest and Pembroke Pines, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and Wellington. — Ina Cordle
