Two months after selling their Four Seasons condo in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood, Fred and Lora Jean Drasner are heading north.

The Miami power couple dropped $5.2 million on a 10,577-square-foot mansion in Wellington’s gated Palm Beach Polo and Country Club, according to records. The Drasners took out a $3.9 million mortgage with JP Morgan Chase.

Fred Drasner is a former co-owner of the New York Daily News and the Washington Football Team, previously known as the Redskins. He was also a one-time business partner of developer Mort Zuckerman.

Terri D. Kane, trustee of the Kane Living Trust, is the seller of the estate at 2714 Sheltingham Drive. Kane bought the property for $4.5 million in 2008, records show. The two-story home with six bedrooms and six bathrooms was completed in 1998.

Travis Laas with Engel & Volkers Wellington represented the seller, and Stephanie Passler with Illustrated Properties represented the buyer. According to Zillow, the half-acre property was listed in September of last year for $6.4 million. The price was slashed twice, most recently in June to $5.4 million.

Renovated in 2017, the Drasner’s mansion features a large open floor plan, a ground-floor master suite with two bathrooms and “his and hers” walk-in closets, an office and library overlooking the pool, and a loft that can be converted into a second living room or entertaining area, according to the listing.

The backyard has a new heated salt-chlorinated pool and spa, dining and entertaining spaces, a summer kitchen and a separate cabana bathroom.

In August, the Drasners sold their three combined units on the 54th floor of the Four Seasons condo-hotel at 1425 and 1435 Brickell Avenue to Miami lawyer Stephen Zack and his wife for $8.1 million, according to records.

The Four Seasons condos had been listed several times over the last nine years, according to Zillow, for as high as $27 million

Wellington is considered the winter equestrian capital of the world, and has been the seasonal playground for families of such billionaires as Bill Gates, Michael Bloomberg and the late Steve Jobs, as well as celebrities Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen.

Among recent deals in Wellington, developer Glenn Straub paid $9 million for a 15,000-square-foot mansion, and wealth manager Ruediger “Rudy” Adolf bought an equestrian estate for $13.5 million.
