South Florida firms bulked up in the latest roundup of real estate hiring news.
Fort Lauderdale-based BBX Logistics Properties named Max Stone vice president of acquisitions, according to a press release. Stone will focus on the firm’s development pipeline in Eastern U.S. markets, the release shows.
He joined BBX Logistics from CapitaLand, a Singapore-based real estate firm where he was managing investments in the Los Angeles office.
The move marks the latest in a string of BBX Logistics hiring news. The industrial developer hired Francisco Reyna as vice president of development in March, and Justin Dunn as managing director of development in February.
Westlake Village, California-based commercial brokerage Lee & Associates brought in Stephen DeMeo as a principal in its Miami office, a press release shows. DeMeo specializes in national retail brands, and has represented Home Depot, Hyatt Hotels, McDonald’s, and Morton’s Steakhouse.
Prior to joining Lee & Associates, DeMeo operated his own brokerage in upstate New York. He previously worked for Cushman & Wakefield for nine years. ‘
After Jeffrey Bass of the law firm Shubin & Bass left in January, founding partner John Shubin announced he was rebranding to Shubin Law Group and expanding to Tampa. Now, Shubin is beefing up his team.
The firm promoted Ian DeMello to partner. He focuses on development applications and complex legal issues for multifamily, institutional, retail, and mixed-use projects, according to a press release.
Shubin also hired land use and zoning attorney Liana Kozlowski.
In addition, the law firm promoted Kate Maxwell to partner and hired associate attorney Ben Mitchel, both of whom work in litigation.
