Amy Ballon launches developer consulting firm amid luxury condo bonanza

30-year industry veteran saw “untapped opportunity” in specialized sales training

Residential development sales veteran Amy Ballon launched a consulting firm to address what she sees as a gap in the luxury market.

Ballon is leveraging her 30 years of experience in South Florida’s luxury market amid the region’s unprecedented wealth boom. She formed Ballon Development Consultants to advise developers and sales groups on luxury residential projects from early planning stages through sellout, according to a news release.

As South Florida’s luxury development market soars, developers and marketing firms can struggle to find sales professionals with specialized training, Ballon said.

The firm plans to build a luxury pre-development sales certification program, offering training opportunities for industry professionals.

“There’s an opportunity that has not been tapped into,” to help developers build their own in-house sales teams, Ballon said.

Ballon Development Consultants also provides advisory services in development strategy, marketing positioning and sales, executive sales and leadership and brand presentation, according to its website. Ballon said she plans to expand the firm and has already begun exploring opportunities in California.

Ballon has over 30 years of experience in South Florida’s luxury residential development market with more than $5 billion in sales and consulting work across Florida and other markets, the release said. Before launching Ballon Development Consultants, she worked as an independent consultant on Pier Sixty-Six Residences, a 32-acre waterfront development in Fort Lauderdale.

She has also advised several developers and organizations, including Fernbrook Homes, Fortune International Group and the development team behind Sabbia Beach in Pompano Beach, the release said. Ballon is the founding partner of Hemisphere Sales Group, and she previously held leadership roles with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and Premier Sales Group, according to Linkedin.

Sales at the top of the South Florida luxury market are showing no signs of slowing, as buyers routinely close eight-figure deals amid the normally slow summer season and agents say they are busier this year than last.
