Everyone wants to know what the next “it” Brooklyn neighborhood will be. And recently, Crown Heights has been in the spotlight, with the arrival of a Smorgasburg-style food court and skyrocketing prices — the median home price jumped 58 percent in the first seven months of the year, according to Bloomberg. But, according to Gawker, the neighborhood has already come and gone.

“The point is, if you, like thousands of other young New York City dreamers, moved to Crown Heights recently, it’s time to pack your shit: Crown Heights is over,” the gossip site wrote.

So where is the next “it” Brooklyn neighborhood? According to Gawker, Williamsburg, Prospect Heights, Greenpoint, Bushwick, and parts of Bed-Stuy are also already overpriced and not worth the effort.

The website proposes a new list of up-and-coming neighborhoods for those that want to stay on the forefront of gentrification: Sunset Park, Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Kensington, Ditmas Park and the further reaches of Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights. [Gawker]Christopher Cameron
