Two Hamptons homes with ties to Jackie O trade hands

The East End’s connection to Jackie Kennedy Onassis was highlighted in two major real estate transactions this week. The Grey Gardens estate went into contract for the first time in 40 years, according to real estate news site 6sqft. The mansion at 3 West End Road, once home to Onassis’s relatives — “Big Edie” and “Little Edie” Bouvier Beale, the subjects of the 1975 Maysles Brothers documentary “Grey Gardens” — had been marketed for rent for two years and then for sale for seven months. It was last listed at $18 million, according to the Washington Post. The sales price and buyer have not yet been identified but seller Sally Quinn said she’ll be holding an estate sale that will include items that belonged to the eccentric mother-daughter. And the Hamptons home known as “Lasata” where Onassis summered as a child found a buyer at the reduced asking price of $30 million. Tiffany’s chief creative officer Reed Krakoff, who paid $20 million for it in 2007, sold the property, the New York Post reported. The home at 121 Further Lane has six-bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. Last year, the home was listed for $39 million, but the price was cut in June. [TRD]

Sbarro pizza heir’s Southampton compound sells for $24M

A buyer shelled out $24 million for the home that pizza built. Sbarro scion Anthony Sbarro put the nine-bedroom, 11-bathroom house designed by architect Francis Fleetwood on the market asking $32 million last summer and later lowered the price to just under $27 million, Mansion Global first reported. The identity of the buyer of the two-acre property at 101 Pheasant Lane, who was represented by Harald Grant of Sotheby’s International Realty, was not revealed. Erica Grossman and Michaela Keszler of Douglas Elliman had the listing. The house features multiple fireplaces, a professional kitchen, two-bedroom guest apartment, gym, theater, wine cellar, dance studio, and elevator. Outside, there’s a heated pool, pool house, tennis court and landscaped grounds. [TRD]

April Gornik, vice president of the Sag Harbor Partnership, said $6.25 million has been raised so far out of a hoped-for $8 million by a target date of December 16, the one-year anniversary of a fire that wrecked the cinema’s lobby and façade as well as nearby storefronts. Fundraising efforts have garnered support from celebrities such as Billy Joel and Martin Scorsese, the report said. The Partnership is having a fundraising event at 63 Main restaurant 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27. [27east]

Harvey Weinstein’s Amagansett home no longer for sale

Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein has pulled his Amagansett mansion off the market. Weinstein and his estranged wife, Georgina Chapman, had listed their 9,000-square-foot mansion in Amagansett for $12.4 million, but Sotheby’s International Realty broker Frank Newbold says the property is off the market, according to a Town & Country report. The move comes days after Chapman announced that she was leaving Weinstein following explosive New York Times and New Yorker stories that detailed decades of alleged abuse. The couple purchased the seven-bedroom home in 2014 for $11.65 million, according to the New York Post. They listed the mansion in 2016 for $13.5 million before cutting the price by nearly $2 million in July 2017. [TRD]
