Big Four accounting firm EY just upped its space at Brookfield Property Partners’ 1 Manhattan West by 71,000 square feet.
The addition means EY’s new digs will span 675,000 square feet in the 67-story office tower, the New York Post reported. The 2.1-million-square-foot project is under construction and is expected to open in late 2019 or 2020.
EY was also considering the Rockefeller Group’s 1271 Sixth Avenue for a new Midtown location. The firm’s lease at RXR Realty’s 5 Times Square runs through 2022.
Construction of Brookfield’s five-building mixed-use development, known as Manhattan West, is well under way. The Toronto-based firm filed plans for 2 Manhattan West, a 59-story office tower at 401 West 31st Street that — like 1 Manhattan West — is being designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The tower is one of the last planned for Manhattan West. [NYP] — Kathryn Brenzel
