Stribling & Associates hired Brown Harris Stevens agent Kristin Hurd as the brokerage’s head of corporate strategy and business development.
Hurd is joining the team as Stribling seeks to implement new technology and expand into new markets, the company said in a statement Monday. She will no longer be an agent, but her three-person team — Robin Love, Janera Soerel and Susan McNicholas — will continue to work with new and existing clients.
Previously, Hurd spent seven years at Brown Harris Stevens and was managing director at Heddings Property Group. She sold over a billion dollars in real estate transactions. And before working in real estate, she was an advertising and marketing technology company.
“Kristin’s tech background has informed her entire real estate career, and our agents will benefit tremendously from her actionable knowledge,” Stribling President Elizabeth Ann Stribling-Kivlan said in the statement.
The announcement comes as brokerages have been adopting more technologies to help agents and consumers. In April, the company launched Stribling Analytics, which offers real-time market reports for Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.
The brokerage has also adopted third-party technology — such as VirtualAPT, which has a robot that makes three-dimensional property videos, and Perchwell, which manages listings and offers communication tools for agents.
