Adam Driver is picking up a piece of an A-list condo building.
The Oscar-nominated actor bought a set of units at the Standish, a Brooklyn Heights condo building at 171 Columbia Heights, according to multiple sources. Driver’s identity was shielded by a trust in the deal, which amounted to $11.5 million for three sixth-floor units.
The seller was Mark Van Zandt, a managing director in asset manager King Street’s real estate division, and his wife, Lindsay. The Van Zandts purchased the three units from 2017 to 2025. They bought Unit 6B, a three-bedroom apartment, for $4 million in 2017. They then added two one-bedrooms: Unit 6A for $1.2 million in 2021 and Unit 601 for $1 million last year.
Combined, the units span 3,500 square feet, meaning the deal works out to over $3,200 per square foot, making it one of the most expensive homes sold on a per-square-foot basis in the borough. In February, a penthouse at Two Trees’ One Domino Square sold for $7 million, or $3,313 per square foot, setting a Brooklyn price record on a per-square-foot basis.
The deal was first reported in our daily deal newsletter by TRD Data.
The conversion of the former Standish Hotel into high-end condos has been a star magnet since DDG and Westbrook Partners partnered on the development in 2014.
In 2017, Matt Damon set a then-record when he spent $16.8 million on the building’s 6,200-square-foot penthouse. Two years later, Damon was joined by A-list couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt when the pair dropped $11 million on two units spanning an entire floor in the building.
Driver does not appear to be moving far.
Last week, the actor’s three-bedroom condo at 20 Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights appeared to hit the market for $5 million, a source told TRD. The home is a combination of two units in the boutique condo that a trust tied to Driver scooped up for a collective $4.2 million, according to property records. Carl Gambino of Compass’ Gambino group has the listing, according to StreetEasy. A representative for the broker declined to comment.
Driver’s profile has risen over the last decade after a star turn in Lena Dunham’s “Girls” vaulted him into the role of Kylo Ren in a 2015 installation of the Star Wars franchise, “The Force Awakens.”
Driver has received two Oscar nominations, for his leading role in Noah Baumbach’s 2019 movie “Marriage Story,” and for his supporting role in Spike Lee’s 2018 movie “BlacKkKlansman.
