First America Homes, a leading contributor to Houston’s residential sprawl, is spreading north.
The homebuilding division of The Signorelli Company, a master-planned community developer based in The Woodlands, launched operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth market with a new office and several lot purchases in a development in Anna, the company announced Wednesday.
First America Homes secured 81 homesites in the Leonard Trails development, according to a press release. The single-family home development by McKinney-based Qualico Communities spans 98 acres west of the intersection of Hwy 5 and East White Street in Anna, according to public records. Homes will range from 1,700 to 3,200 square feet with one- and two-story plans, with lots ranging from 30 to 40 feet wide. Prices will start in the $300,000s, and construction is scheduled to start next month.
Additionally, the company created a new divisional office to oversee Dallas-Fort Worth projects, according to the release.
Up to this point, First America Homes has worked primarily around Houston and San Antonio. The Signorelli Company’s largest project to date is Austin Point, a 4,700-acre master-planned community in Fort Bend County which will include 14,000 residential units when completed. First America Homes is currently working to complete the final phase of homes in Valley Ranch, The Signorelli Company’s 1,400-acre master-planned community in Montgomery County.
Anna is one of several Collin County boomtowns that ranked among the top cities in the country for population growth last year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Others include Melissa, Princeton and Celina.
Major developments underway in Anna include Sherley Farms, a $1.5 billion master-planned community by Prosper-based Tellus Group that will also go up east of Hwy 5. Retail development includes an upcoming Kroger grocery store at Rosamond Parkway and Hwy 75.
First America Homes is the second homebuilder to undertake residential construction in Leonard Trails, following Qualico’s homebuilding division Pacesetter Homes, according to Qualico’s website.
